FAQ

AgriNIRTM

1. Which is the degree of AgriNIR’s accuracy and why are frequent measurement on Dry matter necessary?

Our AgriNIRTM analysis equipment has a 2% accuracy on moisture and 3% on all the other parameters (STARCH, CRUDE PROTEIN, ASH, ADF and NDF) while traditional laboratory analysis equipment can guarantee an accuracy that is 1,5% for moisture and 2% for all the other parameters. As a matter of fact, variability of Dry matter during the time on feedstuff is an important factor to be considered. It depends on the feedstuff and the weather, but we have measured even changes equal to 15/20% in two weeks time. From the mathematical point of view it is quite easy to demonstrate that many analysis that are less accurate, but with an immediate response, can enable to decrease the feeding errors if compared with less frequent analysis having more accurate values.

2. Why it is possible to introduce a new forage category as requested by the client?

Based on our experience, if we have available 100 samples representative of the variability present on the territory (well distributed in the area where the AgriNIRTM is used) we can develop a stable calibration. The calibration can be develop by us or by a local expert, thanks to the DG-NIR MANAGER SW, offered in our product portfolio.

3. Are the formulas for the parameters sugar, phosphorus and potassium loadable on the AgriNIRTM software?

We can create calibration curves for all parameters that can be mathematically calculated on the basis of the existing nutrients predicted by AgriNIRTM. More specially, it will be possible to evaluate all nutrients defined as a linear combination of the existing ones, for the other we need a specific evaluation for each one.

4. When making the single analysis (not multiple) with the sample (without even taking it from the box and putting back), predictions are different, deviation is within 5% - why is it so?

Regarding the deviation that has been recognized performing single analysis on samples, it is quite normal in case of material not homogeneous (as it is for example hay). As a matter of fact, in case of single analysis, the surface of material scanned is limited. Repeating the analysis, different part of the material will be probably scanned and not-homogeneous ingredient surface will provide significantly different spectra. This is the reason why the suggestion is to perform Multiple Analysis instead of a Single one.

5. How to manage the sample cup while do you perform analysis?

In order to obtain accurate and repeatable predictions by AgriNIRTM machine it is important to take the sample’s cup outside from the AgriNIRTM machine between analysis. As a matter of fact, the heating provided by the internal lamp will influence analysis results for two main reasons:
a) Significant increase of the sample’s temperature;
b) Drop of the sample’s humidity.

DTMTM2009

1. Which languages does the DTMTM2009 support?

The DTMTM2009 is a multi language software so it provides you the possibility to work with several languages. In particular it support this languages: Czech, Danish, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Oland, Portuguese and Russian.

2. Is it possible to create customizable report on demand?

The DTMTM2009 gives you the possibility to have the report about the recipes and the loading program or about the execution of the recipes or unloading program you executed on the Scale mounted on the Feed Mixer.

3. How are the manual weighing managed?

The Scale, wich is installed on the Feed mixer, gives you the possibility to save on the memory card (if it is connected) the actual weight of the feed, actually present on the feed mixer. This information can be stored inside the memory card and imported into the DTMTM2009.

4. How are ingredient and cost managed?

The DTMTM2009 gives you the possibility to define the costs for each ingriedent, so when you create a recipe you will know the total cost related to each ingriedent and the total cost for the recipe. If you also consider the reports related to the executions of the recipes, you can compare the cost programmed by the DTMTM2009 and the cost calculated considering the actual loaded weight.

5. Is it possible to associate one group to one recipe?

The DTMTM2009 gives you the possibility to insert all the groups of your animals and you can link one group to one or more than one recipe. This is a very useful functionality, because when you look at the History of Loading section, you can filter the executions that you desire to see, selecting the group you prefer.

6. How to manage the loading program?

The DTMTM2009 gives you the possibility to define two kinds of recipes:
a) recipes defined by COWS: when you create a recipe, while adding the ingredient to it, you can insert the number of the cows and for each ingredient, when you insert the amount for one cow, the DTMTM2009 calculates automatically the total amount of the ingredient, related to the number of cows;
b) recipes defined by TOTAL: in these type of recipe, you have not to define the number of cows, but you can define directly the total amount related to each ingredient.

7. How to manage the unloading program?

The DTMTM2009 gives you the possibility to define the unloading program, so after loading the feed on feed mixer, you can decide how to discharge the feed.

8. Is it possible to store the load and unload "Execution"?

The DTMTM2009 gives you to show all the executions stored by the Weighing System; as a matter of fact you can transfer the recipes and the unloading program into a memory card. When you connect the memory card into the Scale and you start to execute a recipe or an unloading program, the Scale will store all data inside the memory card and then these data can be imported into the DTMTM2009 and analyzed in a second time.

9. Is it possible to get the execution data from the Scale?

If the memory card is connected to the Scale, the weight box saves a lot of details as the effective loaded quantity for each component. This information can be imported into the DTMTM2009 and analyzed in a second time by the user.

10. How can I track the costs?

Consulting the details of your executions, you can see that the DTMTM2009 shows you the details about the Programmed costs and the Effective costs. Analyzing these values, you can estimate the cost of your loading process in order to optimize your ration.

11. Does the DTMTM2009 notices the operator error?

The operation of loading and unloading are executed by an operator that drives the feed mixer. When the operator executes a loading or an unloading process, he should consider the target weight proposed by the Scale. Anyway, it can happen that the operator is not able to respect this target weight, so the DTMTM2009 shows you the percentage difference between the target weight and the effective weight.

12. Is it possible to register the operator and track the driving?

In this case you can define an account related to each operator, that will be transferred on the memory card. When you'll plug the memory card on the weight box, it will ask you the account (username e password) related to that operator; so, every executions of loading and unloading program will be associated to that operator and when you'll import the details of the executions into the DTMTM2009, you will be able to know which operator has done that particular execution.

13. Wich are the steps to be carried out if the DTMTM2009 does not recognize the card?

You must check if the COM port is correct in the hardware management and you must plug and unplug the card.

14. Is it possible to print the information coming from the indicator of my feed-mixer on DG printer? Is it necessary some other device (adapter, ...) in order to obtain this?

There are two possible ways for printing the information and data during or after the weighing sessions:
a) It is possible to print one ticket directly from your indicator, where will be contained all the data about the loading and unloading executions, information about the net weight, about the gross weight and the tare, about the components, …
For this reason, our indicators are equipped with printer, which perfectly suits any necessities of printing tickets in any moment and for any type of case.
b) It is possible to print information or data directly coming from the DTMTM2009 program, wherever you are using it, if a printer is connected to your PC. In this way it is possible to print any type of information and data, having the possibility of storing the working sessions and the results also on the paper.

Mobile Load Cells

1. Why buy the mobile load cells instead of the shear beam industrial?

Because they provide a strong and accurate load sensing device at reasonable costs; the robustness of the mobile cells is ideal for mobile applications, such as feed mixers, grain carts or others. VIEW THE COMPARISON BETWEEN THE MOBILE LOAD CELLS AND THE INDUSTRIAL - SHEAR BEAM.

Vehicle Weighing

1. Why vehicles weighing in motion?

Dina3 Axle Scales are mobile, reliable and high-capacity weighing devices. By weighing in motion, the driver can run on the platforms without stopping and see vehicle's weight on a remote display or printed on a ticket. The system (available in 3 different versions: Checker, OIML and Portable) is easy to move and to install and is especially indicated to control the flow of the carried materials and the overload trucks, helping to increase the safey on the roads.

2. What is the accuracy of the Dina3 "Checker/OIML" Systems?

The accuracy is +/-1% of the vehicle weight in dynamic mode and +/-0,5% of the vehicle's weight in static mode. Remember that the accuracy is depending on the site construction. It's strongly recommended to follow DG's instructions to build the site casting.

3. Which type of vehicles can I weigh?

With the inground installation or extra-leveller you can weigh any kind of vehicles. By using the ramps you can basically weigh two axles vehicles.

4. What is the maximum allowed speed on the platforms?

The suggested speed is 1-3km/h.

5. Can I set a client code?

Client code can be set through the CMD key. A Tare value is associated to a client code and stored in memory.

6. How can I export weighing data?

The indicator can be directly connected to a PC through serial port; otherwise, data can be stored on a USB key during the weighing session and downloaded on a PC by using Dina3 Office Pack (optional).

7. Are the weighing data stored in the indicator?

All the weighing session are stored in the "Weighing History" (CMD key) and can be recalled at any time.

8. How must the system be calibrated during the installation?

Platforms are calibrated in our factory before delivery. In most cases, the system doesn't require further calibration. In case of problems with the accuracy, contact DG or your country's dealer.

9. How can I change the language on the display?

Press "Enter" during the indicator's start up. In this way, you will enter "System Configuration" menu. Press the F2 and enter "Setting Base Parameters" menu. Select the language using "+"/"-" keys and save data (see Operator's Manual point 7.2).

10. What happens if "ERR02-Too Few Data" is displayed?

It means that the movement of the vehicle was not constant on the platforms. Repeat the weighing session keeping the speed between the minimum and maximum limits allowed by the system.

11. What happens if the message "Wrong Platform identification" is displayed?

Check that both cables are connected properly to the platforms and to the indicator. If everything is ok and the message is still displayed, enter the PWD menu and store the TAG values again with PWD 1900 (contact DG or your country's dealer).

12. What happens if the message "Platforms Cables Inverted" is displayed?

Switch the unit off, invert the platforms cables and switch the unit on again.

13. What happens if the message "Zero Setting Error" is displayed?

In this case the condition of the indicator is "Locked". Switch off the power unit and verify that:
1) No weights are on the platforms;
2) The platforms connectors are correctly plugged to the indicator and to the platforms and are in good condition (they are not cut or crushed and there is no water inside the connectors).
If the indicator is still "Locked", contact DG or your country's dealer.

14. What if the printer doesn't print?

Verify that the printer is correctly connected to the indicator. Check out if the printer is loaded with thermal paper.
